For K. D. Thompson, she has had a long time love for creating and making things related to the arts. Since she was very small, Halloween was always one of her favorite holidays, and she enjoyed dressing up as her favorite characters This, combined with her love of anime, comics, video games, films, and more lead her to cosplay and costuming as a hobby. These thing lead her to a dream of hopefully one day working in film, either a a designer, special effects artist, or as one of the other creative minds behind the camera.

Upon leaving Savannah College of Art and Design in 2009 to return home to North Carolina, without a job, that winter she began working to put her skills to use, creating original art in both 2D and 3D as did many of the artist that were classmates. With that, Snow Bunny Studios was born. However, she would constantly get more questions about the items she created for her costumes than her original art. With that, she got the idea in the winter of 2011 to change the direction of her business from art to costuming and cosplay accessories.

Since January 2012, business has been booming, and Snow Bunny Studios has become known as a wonderful, creative brand offering costume commissions as well as a growing array of ready made items for both costuming as well as general geekery that can be ordered through Etsy. In that time, a new studio members have been added to the team - Danielle Young. Things are looking bright, and the studio is looking forward to a bright and exciting future ahead.
